Pull Quote Quiz

We were assigned a newsletter article to be done with group members of our choice as well as the topic of our choice. My group and i chose two write a news article on the Information Technology softball team. The content will mostly revolve around stats players coaches and some pull quotes here and there. The pictures that will be added will be photographs that we will physically take of the team and the pull quotes will be sayings from the star players, coach and anybody else that wants the team to be better.

Adobe Illustrator 4/6/11

We saw two videos introducing Adobe Illustrator. The first video was mostly about what is possible with illustrator. After seeing the video i learned that illustrator works really well for creating vector images and editing colors, with our without illustrator experience. The big up about illustrator is it is compatible with a wide variety of file types. When creating a new document there are many editable settings for example, number of artboards, size bleed and they have advanced options as well. This video was really helpful because it will help us with our upcoming news letter project. I can really use the vector images to catch peoples eyes when doing our project and as time goes on we will most likely learn new features on illustrator that we can use to help us create a better newsletter.

Brochure Review

The brochure was mad for new york Ji u Ji tSu. This brochure was a nice prochure that was well detailed. There were many pictures to attract customer's eyes. But downside about this brochure was, there was a lot of free space. Another down side is the picture over laps the test. The brochure could've been better aligned but overall the brochure was nice. The colors went together nicely, their were many pictures and it was well detailed.

This brochure was made for the Jacob Riis Academy program at Information Technology. I actually disliked this brochure a lot because nothing about this brochure was really eye attracting. The photos used on the brochure was not permitted images. The color on the brochure was really bad as well, non of the color went together. The font made the words hard to read. There was a lot of white space. well basically i believe it really wasn't a well developed brochure that was nicely thought out.

Goals and targeted Audience

Goals & Target Audience- the goal is to promote out client and increase the amount of customers entered daily. The target audience is Information Technology and the neighborhood that walks past it daily but never comes in.

Content - Lunch/Breakfast

Design Requirements - Eye catching, Well Organized, Fully Detailed and Well Informed as well as attractive picture

Interactive Brochure Video review

After watching this video it made things a lot easier. In indesign CS5 it makes everything a lot easier and basically makes complicated things easier. This helps my group for the brochure because it will allow us to add a handful amount of features knowing we don't have and flash using experience. Another advantage using indesign CS5 gives us is making everything organized and aligned. One thing that caught my eye and will most likely use is the animation, such as moving text and the video shows us how to preview it before actually having to export it. this gives us a great start to produce a layout in our head meaning what to put in what to do with the text or pictures etc. I think my clients will love the interactive features to the brochure because animation and organization attracts eyes and attracting eyes means more customers and more customers means more business. And the best part about the interactive brochure is its easy to use so everybody can use it without having any complications.

Portfolios - reflection blog

For the past week we have been working on our portfolios made up of our past labs and projects from last term. the purpose of this projects was to have your work more organized to show your college what you have done. This project was mostly targeted the colleges you want to apply to that would like to see a portfolio of your work and skills. excluding college you can use the Porfirio to get a job to design flyers websites etc... We used adobe acrobat to create the portfolio. the portfolio was was made up of all our pdf labs and projects as well ass a short narrative explaining what the labs or project was about. In the end most projects were too big size wise so we were asked to make it smaller. first we resized all of the pictures then we attached the short narrative and pdf picture together so its both smaller in size aswell as being easier for the viewers. I wouldn't say my portfolio is an accurate example because most of my work was not entered in the portfolio but if it was done right i would say it is pretty accurate since all my work and a short description of all my work would be inside.
